Starve The Darkness Inside
I just want to share something
about overcoming sin. We have to, as Christians truly overcome the sin that's
within us. Only the pure will enter into heaven. And we have to constantly
fight a battle against the flesh and against the Spirit. We have to fight that
battle from the perspective of the Spirit, through the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy
Spirit. We have to wage a war which is an internal war against our own flesh.
We have to burn the inner darkness inside of us by starving out our sinful
desires, turning from our sinful ways. But the real battle comes from the sins
that you're slaved to. It's easy to give up things like going to the movies or
listening to, you know, rock and rap and stop playing video games and stuff
like that, that you know, is not good. But when it comes to the inner sins, the
inner darkness that is in your flesh, those are the things that you have to
battle, you have to crucify every day. Now, Jesus said a little leaven leavens
the whole lump, something like that. I'm not sure what leaven. It's something
to do with, like putting a little bit of yeast in, like something, and then it
just expands and ruins the whole thing. In other words, a little bit of
darkness will completely overtake you. Or, in other words, if you feed the dark
inside of you, if you feed the inner part, that is flesh, then it will be much
more aggressive. It will grow. It will be more hungry. It will force you to
feed it, because it will enslave you.
But through the power of Jesus,
living by his Holy Spirit, if you starve out that darkness, that dark man
inside of you, and it becomes external. The darkness dies within you. The
demonic power is no longer inside of you. You're now the pure man here, living
in the Spirit. The temptation, the darkness then becomes external. Do not touch
what is unclean, because it will enter into you, and you will be fighting that
battle of slavery yet again. If you have darkness inside of you, the father of
darkness is Satan. It's demonic. It's evil. It's unholy. And you cannot enter
into a place of light if you have darkness within you. If you do not have the
darkness within you, and you have light within you, Jesus is the father of
light, of all that is good, all that is pure. So burn out the darkness. That
means wage a war against it, starve it, if you keep stumbling into sin, and you
go for a while following Jesus. But you keep following. I've been there before.
You have to starve the darkness
inside of you. And when you repent, it hides. It goes away for a little while,
but then it gets hungry, and it wants to feed, and it's telling you, “touch
what is unclean, more darkness, more darkness. I'm hungry. Feed me, feed me,
feed me.” The more you tell it, “no, no, no,” the more it begins to wither and
starve, and it will leave you because you are no longer feeding it. It will go
and find someone else to feed it. But when it gets hungry and it says, “feed
me, feed me, feed me”, And you give a little bit of darkness to it, it knows,
it's destroyed you. It hides. It goes away. You repent again, and then, guess
what? It waits a while until it's hungry again, and then it comes back. And
it's a vicious cycle. So that is why it's important to starve it completely.
You have to go further than you’ve ever gone with denying your flesh. You have
to continue until it's gone. And then your temptations become external. Your
heart, you're no longer controlled by this flesh. You're now living in the Spirit,
which is pure.
But be careful not to touch what
is unclean, what is darkness. Keep going with Jesus. Don't let the devil ever
bring in condemnation and keep you where you're at. If you're in sin, or if you
keep falling the sin, it's time to just get into the battle and truly kill that
man inside, that darkness inside. Starve it. Starve it out. Go further than
you've ever gone, denying your sin, and it will leave you. May Jesus bless you.
