This plaque here is just
a list of the names of people who originally founded this building and were a
major part in its development. I'm sure they were very proud and honored to
have their name on this plaque. And at the time this building was very grand,
as I'll show you in just a minute. It is a huge mansion type building, very
historical. But Jesus just was speaking to me a message and I'll share that as
we go through the building. So, as you can see, this building is like three
stories tall as a basement. The builders were very proud of it. It was a huge
deal in their time and a bunch of people lived here and worked here. But the
message that Jesus was telling me is that you should not lay up treasure on
earth, because everything we do here, no matter how great and grand it is, it
all has an end.
And as you can see, this
building was very well built and it wasn't that long ago that it was lived in,
and yet still it has come to such great disrepair in a relatively short amount
of time. And anyone who is laying up treasure here on earth, whatever that may
be, that is only going to be very temporary. And in the long run, it's not
going to be worth much of anything, much less your soul.
So, I'll take you inside
and show you what the inside looks like. This place has just become trash. The
people that put their treasure here and laid up their treasure on earth, they
had their reward in full and this is what it has come to. But if we do as Jesus
teaches us and we lay up treasure in heaven, those things are not destroyed.
Thieves can't break in and destroy it, they can't steal things. The things that
Jesus gives us last forever. The souls of people are what are true treasures.
So, I just wanted to make
this message to encourage you to seek after Jesus and to make sure that you're
really laying up true treasure and not laying up treasure in earth where the
moth and rust destroy these straight and steel, fires burn things down, things
corrode, they're destroyed.
All the things that this
earth will perish. But the souls of men are the things that won't perish. And
we need to make sure that we're laying up treasure in heaven, making sure we're
right with Jesus today, and that we're ready for the day that we will stand
before Him and be judged because we won't bring anything of this earth with us.
