How Important is Good Theology? Obviously, we want to have as good of an understanding of God as we can, we want to have good theology, we want to understand the gospel, BUT knowing the Bible forwards and backwards can only get us so far. A lot of Christians think they will get to heaven because they are very biblical, because they know the scripture; maybe they went to seminary, maybe they have listened to a lot of sermons or they read the bible every single day. But NONE of that will get us into heaven. In order to enter into heaven we have to know Jesus Christ and OBEY HIM. We have to endure with Him to the very end of our life. It would be fare better that we just realized we have poor theology, because NONE of us understand anything anyway, and just repent of the sins that we know, and then GET TO KNOW JESUS BETTER through a RELATIONSHIP with Him, than to think that we can achieve our own salvation by going to seminary, reading the bible more, getting into more bible studies and church groups and all that stuff… Christians are very deceived by bible knowledge. They tend to think people are saved or not saved by how well their theology aligns with their church doctrines. This is a big lie. A lot of pastors are going to HELL because they do NOT have the love of Jesus in their HEARTS. And a lot of people that Christians think are really foolish and don’t know anything about the bible or the gospel will end up in heaven because they cared about Jesus Christ, they cared to PRAY… they tried at least to get sin out of their life, they believed that they COULD! If you believe in Jesus He can work miracles in your life. But if you just believe in yourself and that you can get to heaven by reading the bible and going to church, then you are a lost cause, it’s hopeless for you. Is your faith in Jesus Christ or is your hope in dead religion? May the grace of Jesus be with you.
