Church of man VS Church of God

For every genuine and true thing on this Earth, there is also a false counterfeit and we find that with all things, even with a Church of God. The Church of God is real, the body of Christ is real. Now, how do we know whether what is the true church and what is the false church? Now, let us see what Jesus said about the true church. He talked about the church in Matthew chapter 18. I’ll read verse 20. It says, for where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. 

And that is He finds it where two or three people are gathered together in the name of Jesus Christ, there He is in their midst. Now, your institutional church gathers in the name of the church. Just walk outside the church, and there you will see the name, Roman catholic, Methodist, Seventh-day Adventist, you name it, baptist, and all the other -tists. But it is not in the name of Jesus Christ. They come together in the name of the church. They have a denomination, and they have barriers. They have walls around. They have an exclusivity to themselves. They serve themselves, their own organization. They are not gathered in the name of the Lord Jesus. They are gathered in the name of the church.

The true Church of Christ, comprises of those people who love Jesus Christ. And whether they are two or three together, or 1000 together, if they come together in the name of Jesus, then they are the church, and then Christ is in their midst.

The true Church of Christ belongs to Christ. The church of man belongs to man. It is run by the management of the church. And Jesus said, let no one amongst you be a leader. One is your leader, and that is Christ. The false Churches have got leaders. They've got leadership and managers. Jesus said, let no one of you be a manager over the others, but let the greatest one of you be the servant of the others. The false Church has got offices and officers and managers, and all kinds of titles. The true Church of God has got no titles. Those people who work in the church are part of the church, they are ordained ministers. But those who are in the Church of Christ, in a service of Christ, they are called by Christ. They have a calling, and they are confirmed and affirmed by the Holy Spirit of God.

Those who belong to the institutional church, go through seminary, which is actually a cemetery. Because many young, aspiring people who have been called by the Lord are taken into the seminary and they come out, they’re Spiritually dead, because they got no relationship with God. They are just suitable to work for the institution. They are not disciples of Christ. Neither can they make disciples of Christ. My friends, we've got to follow Jesus Christ, and then we are the true Church. His Spirit will guide us into all truth. And the true Church of God, when it comes together, it comes together to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It does not come there to seek the guidance of the priest or the pastor or Rev. appointed officials. The true Church of God has got one leader, and that is Jesus Christ. They pray about whatever problems they've got. Jesus Christ Himself by His only Spirit is in charge, and they follow Him. There is no manager. It is not like a worldly institution. The body of Christ is guided by the Holy Spirit of Christ. And all those who Christ appoints and calls by Himself, those serve the body of Christ. Those are apostles, teachers. They are evangelists. All those who Christ calls, they are true pastors who shepherd the flock. They are not belong to an institution to give them a legality. They are children of God. They are not servants of the institution. And that is a difference between the Church of God and the church of man.

The church of man has the authority of men and they chuck out anybody that they don't like. The Church of God operates under the authority of the Holy Spirit, and it is under that authority that Peter and the other apostles operated. My friends, we must follow Jesus Christ. And if you go to church, just walk outside and look at what is on that label outside. Is it the church of man or the Church of God? If it's the church of man, it will have an organization. It will have a leader.

There is only one leader, my friend, and that is Jesus Christ. We are all servants, and we are all brothers in Christ, and we come together to seek Christ. The authority of the body of Christ is only one, and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus also said, I read from Matthew chapter 18, verse 15. It says,  15“And if your brother sins, go and reprove him in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16“But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. 17“And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church.”

 who is that church? The church is a body of Christ, those people who follow Jesus Christ. It's not the institution.

(verse17) and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax-gatherer. 18“Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.”

My friends, the house of God should be a house of prayer where God is in the midst. It is not an institution. It is not a house of man. It's not a church of man. It's a Church of Christ. It is a body of Christ, where people come together under the authority of the Holy Spirit, and they worship God. There is now exclusivity that belongs to the management of the church. If you belong to such an institution, you are not the part of the body of Christ, my friend, and you belong to some club. Can God not work there? Yes, God can work anyway. But if you want to be part of the body of Christ, then follow Christ and get together with two or three who love Jesus Christ. Seek the company of those who seek Christ, not those who build an organization and put a label on the door, have a management team. My friend, that's not the Church of God. That's the church of man. If you are part of the body of Christ, then Jesus Christ is your Lord and your Master, and you follow Him, and so do all of those who worship Jesus with a pure heart, together with you.
