对许多基督徒来说，圣经，了解圣经，学习圣经，就是他们作为一个基督徒的生活的全部，这就是他们的现实。上帝的国关乎耶稣基督，关乎认识他，听从他的声音，跟从他。如果你把任何东西放在比耶稣更优先的位置，这就是偶像。
这些基督徒并没有意识到他们正在做什么，他们并不认识耶稣，他们也不认识他的声音，他们与耶稣没有任何的关系。对他们来说圣经就是全部。他们不能祷告，他们也不能花时间向耶稣祷告。但是他们能花时间去读圣经，就圣经辩论。
对他们来说，圣经是一本有魔力的书，他们不信任耶稣，他们也不信任圣灵的声音。对他们来说，耶稣并不是真实的。这就是为什么那一天，耶稣会对许多人说：”走开，我从来都不认识你！“因为他们从来没有与耶稣建立亲密的关系，他们从不认识他的声音，他们也从没有信任过他，他们信任他们的圣经。
圣经是一本书。是由圣灵所启示的各个经卷组成。圣经告诉了我们关于耶稣的事情，正如耶稣对文士们说的，“你们勤恳的查考圣经，以为里面有永生，但是你们却不到我这里来得生命。”如果我们只是把时间花在圣经上，我们就无法花时间与耶稣在一起。
我是在贬低圣经吗？绝对不是。对我来说，圣经是最重要的一本书，我非常了解圣经，因为我不只读了一种语言版本的圣经。我追溯了圣经的原著语言希腊文，去了解圣经字词短语的根本含义。但是启示了圣经的圣灵，知道圣经最初措辞本身的用意。所以我们只有相信圣灵，听从圣灵，我们才能够明白经文真正的指向和含义。耶稣也说过，只等真理的灵来了之后，他会引导你们明白一切的真理，他也会把将来的事情告诉你们。这些事情并没有被写下来。
如果我们局限在过去已经写下来的这些经文里，当圣灵向我们说话时，我们就不会听到圣灵的声音，我们就不是被圣灵引导着，正如保罗写的，那些被上帝的灵引导的才是上帝的儿女。写新约的使徒们都在为耶稣作见证。但是我们自己必须耶稣建立真正的关系。我们自己必须被圣灵引导。我们必须深入的认识耶稣自己。
我们与基督的关系并不是建立在一本书或者在我们之前的弟兄们亲身经历的基础上。我们与耶稣基督的关系必须是真实的。对你来说，如果你的圣经比圣灵更真实，比你与耶稣基督的关系更真实，那你的圣经就是你的偶像。最后有一天耶稣就会对你说：”走开，我从来都不认识你。“
这是因为你从来没有与他建立亲密的关系，亲爱的朋友，在你生活中什么是更重要的呢？是耶稣吗？是进入他的同在，听从他的声音，被他的灵引导，还是被你的圣经引导着更重要呢？圣经是你的偶像吗？愿耶稣祝福你。
To many Christians, the Bible, knowing the Bible, studying the Bible is all that their Christian life revolves around. That is their reality. The Kingdom of God is about JESUS CHRIST, About KNOWING HIM, HEARING HIS VOICE, FOLLOWING HIM. If anything takes preferance over Jesus, then that thing is an IDOL. These Christians do not realize what they are doing. They do not know Jesus. They don't know His Voice. They are not in a relationship with Him. To them, their Bible is their reality. They cannot pray or spend time in prayer with Jesus, but they can spend time reading the Bible, debating over the Bible. To them it is a Magic Book. They do not trust Jesus. They do not trust the voice of the Holy Spirit. To them, Jesus is not real. And that is why Jesus will say to many people in that day, “GO AWAY, I NEVER KNEW YOU.” Because they never got into an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. They never got to know His voice. They never got to trust Him. They trusted their Bible. The Bible is a Book, comprised of Scriptures that were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us about Jesus and as Jesus said to the Scribes, “You diligently seek the Scriptures in there to find eternal life, but you REFUSE to come to Me and have life.” If we spend our time with the Bible, We are not spending time with Jesus. Am I discounting the Bible? No, certainly not. It is the most important Book to me. I know the Bible very well. I read it in more than one language and I refer back to the Greek to learn more about the original meaning of the words, the phrases. But the Holy Spirit to inspired the Scriptures knows the meaning that was intended, and unless we trust the Holy Spirit and LISTEN, we will not learn the intended meaning. Jesus also said that when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you in the whole truth, and He will Teach you things to come. Those things are not written. If we confine ourselves to what was written, then we will not listen to the Holy Spirit when He speaks to us. We will not be guided by the Holy Spirit. And as Paul wrote, Those who are LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, they are the SONS OF GOD. The Apostles who wrote the New Testament gave testimony of Jesus. But we ourselves must come into a relationship with Jesus. We must be guided by the Holy Spirit. We must get to INTIMATELY KNOW JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF. Our relationship with Christ must not depend on a Book or on the experiences of our brothers before us. Our relationship with Jesus Christ must be REAL. If your Bible is more real to you than the Holy Spirit, than your relationship with Jesus Christ, Then your BIBLE is your IDOL. And then Jesus will say to you one day, “Go away, I never knew you.” Because you never got into a close relationship with Him. Dear friend, what is more important in your life? JESUS, being in His presence, hearing His Voice, Being guided by His Spirit OR your BIBLE? Is your BIBLE your IDOL? May Jesus bless you.
