Well praise Jesus everyone. The last few days, there has been a fire in Mariposa County. But Jesus has been good to me and my family. I wasn't sure if I would have much work when I got home, but I've had plenty of work. Everything's provided for. And actually, it's hardly smoky today. The fire has been kind of going north south, but I'm kind of west, so it hasn't been too much of a problem at all. All the roads I've been going on are pretty much open. And there was a lot of ash on my truck in the morning, but other than that, we're still here. We're not evacuated. If you look around, you can see that the air is pretty poor quality, but no big plumes of smoke around here right now.

I was up north about two months for some schooling that I went to for my work, and on my way back home, my final day, coming back, I just saw a huge plume of smoke going up to high heaven. It was like 10 miles high. And all over the news is Mariposa County in this big fire. I've been speaking to a bunch of people that are evacuated, A bunch of people I know are evacuated. But man, the Lord continues to provide for us. He provides for his children. When you're evacuated, and you leave your house, you kind of don't know if you're going to come back to anything. The first time it happened to me was during the Detwiler Fire around 2017. I think it was, and I was a nervous wreck. You can still go find clips of me and my family on the news. I think it was like Fox News and a few other uh news agencies put us on television and we were evacuated. And man, I just remember telling myself, if I could go back and do that again, I'd want to trust God more. Just trust him that he'd take care of my property, my house. And even if it all burnt up, even if everything burnt to the ground, that I would just trust him with my life wherever I go.

And I know that the safest place for me, my family, and anyone who's in the family of God, is just being wherever The Spirit of God wants us. The Spirit of God wants me right where I am. And the Holy Spirit confirms me every day, I have everything that I need. I have water, food, shelter, work. I don't lack anything Spiritually, because Jesus gives me everything that I need even before I ask. And that's not because I'm a mastermind. It's not because I'm so smart or that I've prepared for the future so well. There's been times where I easily could have lost everything. But the Lord is merciful to us, and he also calls us to be merciful and loving towards others.

I've been accused before of being a mastermind. I think that people, they don't see the work of the Holy Spirit, they just don't see God in anything. And if you don't see God at work, you just think, you know, uh, people are controlling everything. You may think that I got where I am because I mastermind everything. It's just not farther from the truth. I remember, um, when I was first coming to Jesus, I didn't know that I was going to come out of the church, leave my house, sell my possessions and move. I didn't know God was going to call me to leave without telling even people in my family where I was. And some people, and my wife s family and friends thought I manipulated and I preplanned all of this, that I asked everyone for presents for my wedding, that I asked everyone for money, which I didn't do any of that, but they thought that I just took my wife, took the vacation, and then said, "forget all of you. I'm out of here. "

And that's just not the way it worked. You know? I just chose to follow Jesus one day at a time. It's not like I chose to play church for a while to figure out church politics, so then I could speak against the church organization. And then I snuck in pretending to be a youth pastor so I can find a woman in church to get married to, and then as soon as I'm married, you know, get out of there. Every step of the way, the Lord was guiding me, and the closer I became with him, the more he made all things work together for good. Because, as the scripture says, all things work together for good for those who know God and who are called according to his purpose. And things have worked out in my favor a lot, to where I know it's not because I'm so smart or a mastermind because I had money or education, but it's because the Lord is working everything together for his children. The Lord has protected me even when I didn't deserve it. He's kept me from harm that I didn't even know was right in front of me. And it truly is a blessing to be the Lord's sheep, to be one of his children. We don't have to know everything to follow him. We don't have to think that we have to be highly educated or read all these books to guide us.

I think that a lot of Christians imagine that following God is about becoming more and more intellectual, knowing the future by seeing all these books in all this literature, and reading commentaries and getting to know really smart people. and then they can kind of fit all those puzzle pieces together of everyone's knowledge, and then they can follow God and navigate into everlasting life. And that's just not the way it works. That is, actually, Jesus gave a parable about the sand. Remember, he says, that the wise man built his house on the rock, but the man that was not wise, he built his house on the sand. And when the rains came down, it washed his whole house away. While symbolically, the sand is like Christians who take a bunch of little rocks and try to put a conglomerate. They try to put it altogether. And every little piece of information they find from this Christian, in that Christian, this Bible study and that, and this church and that church.

And sure, it sounds like truth. It sounds like little words and nuggets of truth from God here and there. But in the story of the man, the foolish man who built his house upon the sand, that's all of those little bits of information from people. What happened when the storm actually came. The storm came, the rains came down, the floods came up, and the house tumbled and went down stream, swept out into the ocean, no more house. If we're gonna have a house that stands, it needs to be on the rock of Jesus Christ. Everything that we build is going to be tested with fire, to see if we built with wood, hay, stubble, or if we built with things that will not melt in the fire or burn up, the things that come from heaven, and those are the things that come from prayer, when we pray and ask Jesus to fill us with his power, with his Spirit, with his knowledge, and to guide us with that supernatural power that comes from his holy Spirit, that guidance that comes from heaven, not from a wise preacher or a wise leader, but the supernatural guidance of the holy Spirit that is supposed to be leading every single child of God.

Remember that parable about the ten virgins. Five were foolish, five were wise. But if you saw all ten of those virgins together, you may say they all look the same. All of them have a lamp, but you would have to look more closely to see which virgins had a lamp with oil inside the lamp. From the outside, it looks the same, but on the inside, maybe it's half empty, three quarters empty, or maybe there's no oil in it at all, and you're going out at midnight thinking you're going to make it in the dark world with a lamp, with no oil. Most Christians have no oil in their lamp. They're not filled with the Holy Spirit, but they do have a lamp. They have a sense of morality. They have a sense of direction in the world. They have a house that's built on the sand, which is all the principles of different doctrines of the world. They do read the Bible. They do have a church or wise teachers. But the problem is their houses built on the sand, and the light of their house is a lantern without any oil in it. So there's no light in it at all.

If we're going to be in the truth, we are not masterminds. We don't have to be smart and know everything, but we do have to be as children who trust God and who ask him for our provision every single day. And when we seek first the Kingdom of God in his righteousness, then he provides everything we need. And it's not because just we happen to be in a good place. It's not because we were born with a silver spoon in our mouth or we're born to wealth. Whether you're born wealthy or poor, all of us die alike, and trouble comes into everyone's life. It doesn't matter how rich or poor you are. It doesn't matter if you're in the city or the mountains. Trouble comes to all of us. But if we have oil in our lamp, and if Jesus is with us, then he continues to guide our path.

So when trouble comes your way, do you really have oil in your lamp? Because that is where the rubber will hit the road. That's where you're going to figure out, if you're a true man or woman of God, or if you are just make believing the whole time, pretending that you had faith, pretending that you knew something about God. We don't want to be pretenders or make believers. We want our faith to be genuine. I hope this encourages someone to truly put their faith in God, knowing that he will take care of all your needs. If you seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness. May the grace of Jesus to be with you.
